Who we are

Sports Turf Essentials Ltd (STE) is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. Contact: help@sportsturfessentials.com; 10 Higher Peel Street, Oswaldtwistle, Accrington, BB5 3JJ.

Updated 30 September 2026. This notice covers our website, customer accounts, orders and parts enquiries.

Information we use

We use information you provide when ordering, creating an account or contacting us: your name, email, business or club, billing and delivery addresses, order and payment references, and correspondence. Part-identification enquiries include machine details, height of cut, part requirements and any optional photographs you submit.

The website and its service providers also process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, session identifiers and security logs. WooCommerce can record the referral source associated with an order. Payment providers process payment information through the payment method selected at checkout.

Why we use it

  • Orders and enquiries: to answer your request, process payment, supply parts and deal with delivery or returns. This is necessary to perform a contract or take steps you request before a purchase. For business contacts, we also rely on our legitimate interest in responding to and servicing the organisation.
  • Accounts and STE Rewards: to provide your account and calculate the discount attached to your qualifying paid website purchases. This supports the account and rewards service you use. Contact us if you believe the calculation is wrong.
  • Records: to meet legal accounting and tax obligations.
  • Security and support: our legitimate interests in protecting the shop, preventing misuse and resolving enquiries or disputes.

Sending an enquiry or entering a competition does not, by itself, mean that you consent to marketing emails.

Who receives information

Information needed to provide these services is processed by our website and hosting providers, payment providers such as Stripe, delivery and tracking providers such as Royal Mail and ParcelPanel, email providers, and our order, inventory and accounting services, including Zoho. Professional advisers or authorities may receive records where needed for their role or a legal requirement.

These services have their own privacy information. Contact us for details about the providers involved in your enquiry or order, including where they process your information.

How long information is needed

Retention depends on the purpose: fulfilling orders, resolving enquiries and returns, maintaining an account, and meeting accounting, tax and legal requirements. An enquiry that leads to a sale may form part of the order record. Relevant records may also be needed while a dispute is unresolved. The 12-month rewards calculation does not mean that order records are deleted after 12 months.

Contact us to ask about retention of your information or request deletion. We may need to keep some records to meet a legal obligation or establish or defend a claim.

Cookies and website services

WordPress and WooCommerce use cookies and similar technologies for functions such as login, baskets and sessions. Payment services may also use them for payment security and fraud prevention. WooCommerce order-attribution features use session information to identify how a visitor reached the shop. Externally loaded services, including Google Fonts, receive technical connection information when your browser requests their resources.

You can manage cookies through your browser, although blocking essential cookies may prevent login, basket or checkout functions from working. Continuing to browse is not, by itself, consent to optional cookies.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your information, or request a portable copy. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful use.

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, and you can object to direct marketing at any time. Email help@sportsturfessentials.com to make a request. We may ask for information to verify your identity.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). We would welcome the opportunity to address your concern first.

Photographs and updates

Only include photographs and personal information relevant to your parts enquiry. We may update this notice as the business or its services change; the date above identifies this version.
